La gingivite est une maladie parodontale qui affecte les gencives, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement caus\u00e9e par des bact\u00e9ries qui se d\u00e9posent sous la forme d’une pellicule molle, collante et incolore appel\u00e9e plaque dentaire. Si cette plaque n’est pas \u00e9limin\u00e9e, elle durcit et forme des d\u00e9p\u00f4ts appel\u00e9s tartre (\u00e0 ce stade, il est n\u00e9cessaire de se rendre chez le dentiste pour soigner cette inflammation des gencives<\/strong><\/a> (gingivite), car le brossage et les soins d’hygi\u00e8ne quotidiens ne suffisent pas).<\/p>\n

Dans les maladies des gencives, on distingue trois stades, du plus faible au plus \u00e9lev\u00e9, par ordre de gravit\u00e9 :<\/p>\n

1. Gingivite :<\/strong> la plus b\u00e9nigne (gencives gonfl\u00e9es, rouges et saignantes).<\/p>\n

2. Parodontite ou pyorrh\u00e9e :<\/strong> apr\u00e8s une gingivite aigu\u00eb, si elle n’est pas trait\u00e9e, l’inflammation affecte les ligaments et l’os qui soutiennent les dents.<\/p>\n

3. Parodontite avanc\u00e9e :<\/strong> c’est la plus grave et elle peut conduire \u00e0 la perte des dents.<\/p>\n

Sympt\u00f4mes et signes de la gingivite<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Les principaux sympt\u00f4mes et signes de la gingivite sont les suivants :<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/strong> Gencives gonfl\u00e9es, rouges et sensibles,
\n\u2022<\/strong> Saignement des gencives<\/strong><\/a>, en particulier lors du nettoyage (fil dentaire, brossage),
\n\u2022<\/strong> D\u00e9placement des gencives ou s\u00e9paration des gencives des dents,
\n\u2022<\/strong> Mauvaise haleine,
\n\u2022<\/strong> Dents d\u00e9chauss\u00e9es<\/strong><\/a>,
\n\u2022<\/strong> Douleur lors de la mastication des aliments,
\n\u2022<\/strong> Pus visible autour des dents (entre les dents et les gencives).<\/p>\n

Soigner la gingivite<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Le plus important dans le traitement de la gingivite est de la d\u00e9tecter \u00e0 temps et d’\u00e9viter qu’elle ne se transforme en parodontite.<\/p>\n

Le traitement de la gingivite a pour r\u00f4le de contr\u00f4ler l’infection et \u00e0 r\u00e9tablir la sant\u00e9 des dents et des gencives. Votre parodontiste nettoiera soigneusement vos dents pour \u00e9liminer les bact\u00e9ries nocives, la plaque et le tartre. Les autres traitements de la gingivite sont les suivants\u00a0:<\/p>\n

– Le d\u00e9tartrage et le surfa\u00e7age radiculaire<\/a> :<\/strong> Cette proc\u00e9dure est similaire \u00e0 un nettoyage dentaire de routine, mais elle permet d’aller plus profond\u00e9ment sous les gencives. Le d\u00e9tartrage \u00e9limine le tartre et les bact\u00e9ries. Le rabotage lisse les surfaces des racines des dents et emp\u00eache les bact\u00e9ries d’y adh\u00e9rer.<\/p>\n

– Am\u00e9lioration de l’hygi\u00e8ne bucco-dentaire :<\/strong> Un bon nettoyage dentaire permet g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement d’\u00e9liminer les bact\u00e9ries responsables, et donc de soigner la gingivite. Mais vous devez maintenir la propret\u00e9 une fois rentr\u00e9 chez vous. Vous apprendrez \u00e0 vous nettoyer correctement les dents avec une brosse \u00e0 dent, avec un fil dentaire et avec une brossette interdentaire. Utiliser un dentifrice con\u00e7u contre la gingivite est indiqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n
