Hippocrate de la Gr\u00e8ce antique (\u00e0 l&rsquo;origine du serment d&rsquo;Hippocrate et souvent d\u00e9crit comme le p\u00e8re de la m\u00e9decine) recommandait d&rsquo;utiliser du charbon pour traiter les gencives noires et la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lecourrierdudentiste.com\/lepatient\/blog\/mauvaise-haleine-ou-halitose.html\"><strong>mauvaise haleine<\/strong><\/a>. Les Romains de l&rsquo;Antiquit\u00e9 fabriquaient des bains de bouche et des poudres pour les dents avec des sabots de ch\u00e8vre br\u00fbl\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Le charbon de bois et les dents ne se sont pas beaucoup m\u00e9lang\u00e9s depuis lors, jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce que les produits \u00e0 base de charbon de bois commencent \u00e0 r\u00e9appara\u00eetre \u00e0 la fin du XIXe si\u00e8cle et au d\u00e9but du XXe si\u00e8cle. Dans les ann\u00e9es 1930, les cr\u00e8mes et les gommes dentaires au charbon de bois \u00e9taient pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es comme un moyen de rafra\u00eechir l&rsquo;haleine et d&rsquo;\u00e9liminer les taches de tabac. Cependant, des associations et des chercheurs ont soulev\u00e9 des probl\u00e8mes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 qui ont conduit \u00e0 l&rsquo;abandon de ces produits.<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Charbon_de_bois_active\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Charbon de bois activ\u00e9<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Le charbon actif est le principal ingr\u00e9dient du dentifrice noir. En outre, les dentifrices au charbon de bois contiennent d&rsquo;autres ingr\u00e9dients. Il s&rsquo;agit souvent d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9ments qui stabilisent, aromatisent et sucrent le dentifrice. C&rsquo;est une belle th\u00e9orie, mais elle passe \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 d&rsquo;une partie importante du tableau. Le charbon de bois est une substance tr\u00e8s abrasive, donc m\u00eame s&rsquo;il absorbe les compos\u00e9s nocifs et aide peut-\u00eatre m\u00eame \u00e0 \u00e9liminer les taches de surface sur les dents, il <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lecourrierdudentiste.com\/lepatient\/blog\/principales-causes-de-la-perte-demail-des-dents.html\"><strong>gratte \u00e9galement l&rsquo;\u00e9mail et l&rsquo;\u00e9rode<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Le_manque_de_donnees_a_lappui_du_charbon_de_bois\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Le manque de donn\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;appui du charbon de bois<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>De nombreux produits \u00e0 base de charbon de bois vantent les effets \u00e9tonnants qu&rsquo;ils peuvent avoir sur la blancheur des dents et la fra\u00eecheur de l&rsquo;haleine, mais aucune \u00e9tude n&rsquo;a \u00e9tay\u00e9 ces affirmations. Au contraire, une \u00e9tude a montr\u00e9 que la surface des dents devenait nettement plus rugueuse apr\u00e8s seulement un mois d&rsquo;utilisation de dentifrice au charbon de bois par rapport au dentifrice ordinaire.<\/p>\n<p>Cette texture rugueuse est due \u00e0 la perte d&rsquo;\u00e9mail. Une fois que l&rsquo;\u00e9mail a disparu, c&rsquo;est pour de bon, exposant la dentine plus molle et plus jaune qui se trouve en dessous et rendant les dents beaucoup plus vuln\u00e9rables aux caries. Bien qu&rsquo;il existe aujourd&rsquo;hui des dizaines, voire des centaines de produits dentaires \u00e0 base de charbon de bois, aucun d&rsquo;entre eux n&rsquo;a re\u00e7u le soutien de l&rsquo;OMS ou de la FDI.
